Upper Cervical Care Is Our Specialty
Working with the cervical spine as much as I do, most typically we see cases of headaches, neck pain, jaw pain, dizziness, tinnitus, and other conditions that can be a result of misaligned vertebrae of the neck. While the upper cervical region is Dr. Spurgeon's specialty, our treatment goal is always directed at improving your overall health - primarily working with your body mechanics and taking pressure off of the neuro-musculo-skeletal system. In doing so, we work with many conditions.
Gentle/Low-Force Techniques
If you are tired of the higher-force adjustments or they simply aren't getting you the same results, you may be looking for a more gentle approach. While higher-force techniques are sometimes considered necessary, we often find that instrument-assisted adjustment combined with specific muscle therapy can yield more effective and longer lasting results for many people.
Additional Techniques
While our goal is to provide the most results with the lowest amount of force, there are times other techniques are required. Fortunately your doctor is a self-professed "technique junkie". In practice he utilizes Atlas Orthogonal, Activator, Diversified, Gonstead, Lumbar Flexion/Distraction, Sacro-Occipital (SOT), Thompson Drop, and soft-tissue techniques (similar to Active Release Technique).
Some of the musculoskelatal and neuro issues we treat are:
We often see relief in non-musculo-skeletal based conditions as well. While treatment for these items is not always considered conventional, we suggest an initial set of appointments, followed by a regular interval of follow ups if treatment is effective (of course we believe maintaining good body mechanics and alignment is important regardless).
We'd love to be a part of your healing journey. Give us a call or use our online scheduler to schedule a New Patient appointment.
