By medical definition, a luxation is a dislocation of a bone. Therefore a sub-luxation is a bone that is misaligned at a lesser extent than a dislocation. A chiropractor may refer to a subluxation as a subtle misalignment of a spinal bone which often puts pressure on a spinal nerve. However, the bones in our arms and legs can become subluxated as well. Chiropractors are the only practitioners who treat subluxations on a regular basis.
Often a chiropractor may talk about how subluxations can cause issues beyond simple back and neck pain. Citing how pressure on the spinal nerves can have far-reaching effects. It is not uncommon for a subluxation in your neck to cause a tingling or painful sensation at the arm or hand. Also if you have pressure on a nerve in your low back you may have pain going down the leg. What we often don’t think about is how our spinal nerves also can have some control over functions of our organs, such as our intestines, lungs, and even the heart. Keep your spine healthy by seeing your chiropractor on a regular basis. Your Olathe and Kansas City Chiropractor and Upper Cervical Practitioner
